International Fujara Festival in Slovakia
Sabbatical Performance: I have been invited to perform at the International Fujara Festival in Zvolen, Slovakia. The fujara is a bass overtone flute, originating from Central Slovakia, played for centuries by shepherds in the Pod’planie Mountains. The fujara was proclaimed in the UNESCO list of “Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” in 2005. “The Fujara and its Music” was inscribed on the “Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” in 2008 by UNESCO.
